Pff, past jobs I’ve been at, you got written up for not doing the stupid thing(policy related, nothing that would put you in actual danger).

Mostly I just use nextclouds deck extension. It behaves close enough to what I need as a solo operation.
Others have said this, but it’s always a work in progress.
What started out as just a spare optiplex desktop and needing a dedicated box for Minecraft and valheim servers, to now having a rack in my living room with a few key things I and others rely on. You definitely aren’t alone XD
Regular, proactive work goes a long way. I also stated creating tickets for myself, each with a specific task. This way I could break things down, have reminders of what still needs attention, and track progress.
Maybe it’s some kinda allergic reaction. I know some people will get migraine like symptoms with red wines. Something to do with the tannins (compounds that give the ‘dryness’ effect in wines).
Are these craft brews or domestic stuff like Coors/bud?
Where I live, there’s one charging station. And it’s like 8 miles or so from my house. I’ve yet to see more. It’s also a fairly rural area. I think we forget how much population lives outside cities.
I think (and I’m by far no particle physicists) that generally the larger the collider, the better the results can be. Also allows for more energetic collisions with potential discovery of new particles.
Probably not. Knowing this would be hard not to be consumed with a countdown.
And besides, it seems like living in a timeline where this kind of knowledge is even possible has so many other implications. Does the knowledge come with the scenario that everything you may try to do to stop it only puts you closer to the outcome?
There’s been a few models I’ve tried repairing in the field, and it would have required a likely damaging of the end of the WiFi antenna wires (at the very least). Some will have this effectively thick copper tape that’s soldered onto the end of the WiFi wires, and the glue is very aggressive.
And again, some you can peel off without too much trouble, but some not as easily. Granted the vast majority of my repairs were onsite at the customers home/business.
Fix what? It looks perfect /s
Depends on the model. Some are more involved than others.
Check the torq of the hinge screws. They tend to come loose over time and can rock a little. This can cause the plastic to break that holds the female standoffs that it attaches too.
If it’s not a touchscreen, it’s fairly easy to repair. Still shouldn’t have broke in the first place, but it’s just the back panel cover.
I’ve repaired hundreds of laptops across multiple vendors on all kinds of damage, fwiw.
Being a helpless bystander to something horrible happening to my family.
Was hoping to find this reply :)
I have a much simpler setup though. Just a ‘smart’ TV and a sound bar I paid about $200 for so nothing fancy.
Not actually looking for advice, just a thought experiment of quick, easy and cheap fixes.
I’ve always wanted to try putting something like a guitar compressor pedal in the audio chain just to normalize the peaks. My wife will find something to watch, but ends up spending half the time adjusting the volume, or just turning on subtitles.

Nextcloud is a lot of things. A bit overkill for just it’s office offering tbh. But, if it fits your workflow, and you like other things it offers go for it. The snap package actually makes it very easy to tinker with (despite the deserved hate of snaps in general).

I will say that 99% of the time I prefer coffee in the morning. It’s not even the caffeine, but the aroma and flavor. Coffee has just an overwhelming flavor, like it just grabs your mouth and puts it in a headlock.
Tea is my preferred midday or night drink. A more mellow taste, and can be very different.
