Also car seats are enormous and don’t fit well into compact cars unless the passenger side seat is all the way up and maybe not even then. Good luck if you have more than one kid that needs a car seat too.

It’s just gentrification and elimination of affordable housing. Presidium Group bought the apartment complex I used to live in on Riverside and changed the countertops and then demanded double the rent. They were also very aggressive about coming into our apartment whenever they wanted to do “renovations”.
Emily Blair, the Austin Apartment Association’s executive vice president, “While the City is exploring the proposition of an ordinance such as this, it is imperative that existing standards are enforced and supported while carefully factoring in the potential housing affordability ramifications for within the rental housing community.”
This is basically a threat. You require us to have air conditioning then we’ll raise rents.
They are not specifically German import mechanics but Juke Automotive is great. I would at least give them a call and see what they can do for you.
I actually mostly liked the Zilker Park Vision Plan. I see Austin is still intent on the idea that if they don’t build it, people won’t come.
Lots of good places already recommended, I’ll add Golden Goose, Cosmic Coffee + Beer Garden, Bouldin Creek Cafe, Elizabeth St Cafe, Captain Quackenbush’s has live music and a pretty good bar, Odd Duck for fancy dinner.
Wow, I had no idea the bill makes booksellers responsible for reviewing the books or risk not being able to sell to school districts. That’s completely absurd. Typical GOP, only business friendly when it suits their interests.
El Chilito and Thundercloud for sure.
This was some years ago but one of the things that finally prompted me to get a car was waiting so long at a bus stop that I got sunburned.
I’m just explaining why parents might opt for a larger car especially if they have multiple children. It used to be mini vans, now it’s SUVs or crossovers which are probably not much bigger than station wagons.
