Small enough to fit in a woman’s vagina
Small enough to fit in a woman’s vagina
Perhaps you missed the sarcasm of “spread democracy”. I was referring to the United States’ history of invading or meddling in countries with oil. I don’t know why you think ownership is any obstacle to possession.
Texas would find itself a majority brown-skinned country with oil. You know, the kind of country the United States loves to “spread democracy” to.
Or he’s just mad that it’s the insurance companies and not the state getting all that sweet, sweet data. This may just be his way of letting the automakers know he wants a cut. Think how many pregnant women could be oppressed if their cars narc on them for visiting Planned Parenthood.
Huge… tracts of land
Texas makes itself hundreds of millions of dollars poorer to own the libs.
So houses here are less un-affordable than the rest of the country.
I’m increasingly of the opinion that settlements should be outlawed in many cases. Settlements mean a case ends without a final ruling. If the parties could resolve their issues without a court, then they never should have sued. If they bring the courts into it, then the court process should be followed to the end.
Paxton made a request of the hospital that 1. He knew they would not comply with and 2. Was not legal. It was pure grandstanding. In a settlement, he escapes any penalty for his abuse of office. At the least, definitely losing the case would look worse for him than just settling.
Companies also use settlements to avoid being judged guilty of various abuses. Settlements almost always include NDAs and no admission of guilt by the company. So, some of the people harmed get a huge monetary payout, but the company can keep on hurting others.
What if we took the space constraints of apartment living and subtracted all economies of scale from compact building?
The Texas Supreme Court isn’t even trying to appear impartial
“I thought you said the law is powerless.”
“Powerless to help you. not punish you.”
Whitestars don’t just shoot asteroids
They wouldn’t want to alienate a core constituency.
revenue would have fallen due to wages not keeping up with inflation.
So you’re saying that if we had an income tax, it would be in the government’s interest to promote higher wages? That sounds like the opposite of a problem.
WHY ARE WE SHOUTING?
Proposition 7 will establish the Texas Energy Fund to finance the construction, maintenance and operation of electric facilities to ensure the state power grid remains reliable. The Public Utility Commission of Texas will oversee the fund.
That language is somewhat misleading. It’ll only fund fossil fuel-burning electric facilities. I voted against it on that ground. The legislature could have made it applicable to all forms of power plant, but they just had to give their oil and gas cronies a handout.
Proposition 12 will eliminate the Galveston County Treasurer’s Office, with other county officials taking over the duties of the treasurer.
I’ll be waiting for the major financial corruption story to come out of Galveston County in the next few years.
Proposition 3 will prevent people and entities from being taxed based on their assets, which is known as a wealth tax. Texas does not have any form of wealth taxes.
I just thought this one was stupid. Texas doesn’t have a wealth tax. A wealth tax would never pass the Texas legislature. It would be vetoed by the governor if it did. It’s like an constitutional amendment banning monsters under the bed.
You’d need to smoosh seventy five Jupiters together to make a star.
Stars have a lot of mass. The Sun loses almost 5 billion tons of mass every second and has enough fuel to last another 4-5 billion years. Adding a single ton of anything would make no appreciable difference. If you were to drop Jupiter into the Sun, it would have an effect, but Jupiter is only 0.09% the Sun’s mass, so the effect would be small.
Hopefully, this quest for personal vengeance will distract Paxton from his nuisance suits against the federal government.
Watch as the Texas Supreme Court reverses this and gives Paxton whatever he wants. They don’t even pretend to be unbiased.
