I always find it interesting, when people claim they don’t like Arch, because it breaks, supposedly.
Out of genuine curiosity, what did you find, that kept breaking, that wasn’t user error, and wasn’t easily reparable?

Quite sad, but entirely unsurprising.
I loved Gothic to death, and 2 is my all-time favorite game, but after having their wrists slit by the publisher with Gothic 3, and everything happening after the release of that, I am not upset it’s over.
The quality of ELEX was miserably bad in every way imaginable, and it only got worse with ELEX2. Risen had great potential with the first game, but completely flopped it with the next two.
For a lack of a better expression, they were a one-trick pony, and rode that wave of success into their eventual grave.
I’m not sure how substantiated these claims are, but i’ve also heard that most of the original team have left years before the shutdown either way, so essentially, what was left of Piranha Byte is just a husk of what used to be
Read back what you just wrote, and go for a walk to let it brew for a bit.
Why the fuck would anyone slave their only life away, for any employer?
That’s definitely not a bug. Plasma 6.1 introduced an accessibility feature, that helps you find the cursor easier if you shake it for a bit
One head gets chopped off, two new ones spawn.
It’s always an issue of service. Make it more available. Adjust the price. Increase content availability. It’s not a rocket science problem, it’s just a problem of corporate greed, and law abuse
I compile my kernel with specific cpu optimizations, so i’ll just have to recompile a new image. Outside of that, everything is drop-in
I’ve just switched my secondary machine to Nix, and was in the process of switching my main too, so it really is quite a shame. I’m really enjoying the distribution, but if the organization continues to have colossal government issues, and repelling active packagers, that’s really not a good sign
Pretty much every brand, that was doing business there before, does it the exact same way, but under a shell company name. Capitalism doesn’t give a fuck who’s doing what, and how wrong it is
Allowing these companies to ever sell anything with the “cloud” marketing was a colossal mistake. Not only it was a waste of people’s money, but now also e-waste
Even with all the privacy concerns aside, I absolutely fucking despise it, when I cannot use my computer the way I want it to be used. That alone would have been enough to convince me to switch. Not to mention that trying to fix issues is a waste of effort, because the system internals are obscured into oblivion. Looking up any issue results in a generic “have you tried turning it off” answer from a Microsoft forum bot.
I like how the Linux kernel works, and I like how things around it are designed. It’s much simpler, a lot more straight-forward, and I can setup shit how I like it. It’s almost as if people who are working on Windows know that they want to tighten their grip over your system, to the extremes, but at the same time, don’t have the reputation of Apple, to be let off the hook, when they pull complete bullshit moves every time
I genuinely dont know a single person who’s created a Threads account (usually through the instagram prompt), and continued using it since then
I genuinely dont understand how SEGA are still in business, after decades of being completely detached from reality
I’ve returned to the game too, after a fairly long break, and ended up settling on Thuldor’s preset. I love Simonrim, so it saved me the time on putting it together, but all the newest fixes/modernization efforts are there too. Strongly recommended. The leveling process is completely different, and that’s something I haven’t tried before. About 60 hours in, it’s really damn solid
I wasn’t having many issues to begin with, but with the introduction of explicit sync into Kwin, and driver improvements throughout the 555 beta series, it’s been just about perfect for me.
The only issue i’ve encountered so far is the panel freezing sometimes. Submit a bug report to both KDE and Nvidia, they’re working on it.
I’m curious why the separation between these still exists, because a bunch of distributions symlink all of these to /usr/bin
either way
If you have reading comprehension of, at least, an 8th-grader, you’ll do just fine. The instructions are all there
Just yet another proof, that the more 0’s you have in your valuation, the less the laws apply to you
For quite a long time now, it’s been the case that if your vendor makes this hard as is, a carrier on top of that will make it considerably worse. As an example, take a look at older Samsung devices, that all needed special-tailored roms for each carrier variant
Being honest isn’t where the money is. Not reaching out towards that takes willpower, and strong principles
I’ll be real with y’all, a 50$ 4 hour tech demo just doesn’t appeal to me, especially in a world where the indie market is absolutely booming with phenomenal titles.
Sure, the first one was nice, but I never felt like I was so impressed by it, that i’d do it again.
