Burnout 3 absolutely. Paradise was a great game but it’s format shift to open world effectively killed the series. Also made races really repetitive since they always went to the same places and you didn’t have an incentive to explore the rest of the map, which was full of really cool stuff like the quarry and train lines…

Anyway Burnout 3 is just the perfection of the classic formula. Shoutouts to Revenge for the traffic check mechanic and the cool new car designs.

Same for me. There are some interests I have (mostly niche games) that just don’t have the population to have any sort of traction here. I don’t comment or vote there anymore, and I’m only still logged in on my main PCs because I didn’t bother logging out. Deleted all my old comments and posts.

In my old laptop, Windows updates used to cannibalize my AMD graphics card driver literally every time.

I have never used Arch but I have had SEVERAL FUCKING TIMES Windows comppletely fuck up something in my system through updates. Thankfully it hasn’t happened in my latest machine running Win10, but in my laptops one ofthenm literally died trying to upgrade versions, and I had to block ut from ever attempting it again.Nowadayas that same laptop is happily running Mint and testing Fedora.

I actually had that realization yesterday. At this point I hope they keep doing it and making Win11/worse. I’m not moving out of Win10 and I have Linux on all my other PCs, and this should push more people into Linux too.

Will? Will? Think again. Cars are already the worst when it comes to data collection and privacy. Not just Teslas, anything with Android Auto or similar. They can literally tell if you’re banging someone in the back seat. BMW made people pay a yearly subscription to access heated seats. I hate the modern automotive market.

Using on a computer, Debian back in 2011. On my own machine I first went with an Ubuntu dual boot, then later switched to Linux Mint and haven’t switched to anything else since. I just love how Mint was able to give new life to the same old trooper laptop I had since 2013.

Me, installimg a few Flatpak apps, having them work for a while then suddenly break for no apparent reason, spend an enture day trying to fix them, only for an update acouple days later to fix it.

Everyone already mentioned Dark Souls and stuff like that. Some stages in classic Doom are also kinda like that.

But my personal nemesis is the mission Glatisant in Ace Combat Zero. Every AC game has it’s long score attack missions, but Glatisant is mandatory in every run of a game you have to clear at least 3 times, and it’s a 30 minute long ground assault on a snowy mountain range with poor visibility and covered in air defenses. The danger level never gets lower, and it’s easy to get shot down right at the end and having to start it all over again.

Always skip Blighttown, and the game still loses steam on Lost Izalith. Really the worst part of the game.

Ohh yeah going back through the tower again in DMC3 is annoying. It was already kinda hard to navigate before the scramble.

Gaben isn’t going to last forever. But honestly the only other good games storefront is GoG. I’ll continue using Steam for as long as it’s still good.

Since I have to use wireless, I did find myself a pair of those for my new phone. Still waiting for them to ship, though. Over the ear hooks are pretty nice, I used to really like them years ago when they were more common, before the damn rubber in-ears.

I just got a new phone that doesn’t have it, and I very strongly miss it. I hate having to charge wireless devices. Everything that I can, I get wired.

Doesn’t help much that lately it’s been getting harder and harder to find good compact wired earphones, most companies pivoted to wireless… And of those that I find, most are the in-ear type with that rubber tip you squeeze deep into your ear… I also don’t like that. Guess I’ll have to move to over-ears for everything.
