To be fair I don’t think I’ve seen good things about Micro$oft in years. I’m honestly not surprised.
To be fair I don’t think I’ve seen good things about Micro$oft in years. I’m honestly not surprised.
My general rule of thumb when it comes to this is that if they say “due to rising costs” within the first few sentences it usually means “not enough money for the important people.”
I’ve seen indie devs make more functional and graphically intensive games on a shoe string budget. And then go around and sell it for less than $60.
I don’t mind it if the game was always free to play. They gotta make their money somehow if that’s the case. The problem I have with Overwatch and the microtransactions is that they went free to play after they already made a fuck ton of money off of loot boxes and the fact that you used to actually have to buy the game. It’s just a cash cow and gameplay (including matchmaking, like you said) has suffered considerably. Not only that but they charge as much money as entire games for skins. Games like Overwatch when it first came out.
I don’t mind microtransactions in free to play games, I really don’t. It’s just the method they are using is just blatantly greedy and targeted for whales that will pay anything for fear of missing out.
Well, they also sell weapon skins that cost as much as the entire game used to cost. So I’m sure they are just trying to do damage control while also not changing their monetization.
Honestly I haven’t heard any good news about Microsoft in like 10 years. They just keep making awful decisions.
I wish Valve had some sort of monetary incentive to fix this. If this happened to the cash cow that is Counter Strike this would have been fixed already. It’s sad to see this going on especially with the resurgence TF2 has been having lately.
“hey christians! do you sin? now you can buy your way out of hell!”
What’s the fucking point of court if the worst corporations don’t even have to show up? That’s just fucking stupid.
Just look up Sam Altman on job replacement my dude. He doesn’t give a single fuck about anyone and just keeps going for the sake of progress. All he does is avoid questions and use buzzwords just like the rest of them. He sounds like Elon Musk 10 years ago before he stopped trying to hide the crazy.
You should watch some of the interviews with these non profits. They sound like cartoon super villains.
Two morally bankrupt companies pooling their resources to make the most controversial and often shady tech we’ve seen in years. What could go wrong?
I mean, every company making AI these days is morally bankrupt. It’s just the idea of any of them teaming up in the first place that gives me a bad feeling.
I get this all the time because I tend to binge games over weekends when I got nothing else going on. I’ll give two examples that I remember the most.
One of the most prolific is Factorio. Seeing conveyor belts everywhere I go. Whether I’m awake or about to fall asleep I just constantly see conveyor belts as I solve non existent problems with the efficiency of said conveyor belts.
The weirdest was after Outer Wilds. I binged it for about 12 hours straight one day. You spend a lot of time orbiting around planets and landing on them. After I was done I was walking around my apartment and felt like I was “orbiting” a spaceship around my apartment. It felt super weird to walk. Felt like the floor was the surface of a planet and my head was a spaceship flying miles above it trying to land.
Not exactly. But if you disagree with their decision you’re automatically antisemitic.
Honestly, as a dude, I’m 100% down for male birth control. Can’t wait.
Honestly, I love windows 10 and windows 7 even more. I have had very little complaints with them and I miss 7 every day. But when support runs out for Windows 10 I’m switching. It seems every single day they come up with another stupid plan or “feature.” Whether it’s AI that’s barely helpful or forcing me to use their software and services, I’m exhausted with the obnoxiously aggressive tactics to get me to use them.
It’s almost like LLM’s aren’t the solution to literally everything like companies keep trying to tell us they are. Weird.
I honestly can’t wait for this to blow up in a company’s face in a very catastrophic way.
This meme was created way before Assassin’s Creed added Yasuke to their game. Which sucks because this meme was pretty funny before people got racist.
This meme was a lot funnier before the whole Assassin’s Creed debacle. Although it is funny seeing people get mad about it while trying not to sound racist lol.
I can’t wait for the article saying how we’re gonna solve world hunger with AI.
Honestly, I can’t even remember the last time I bought an EA game. What do they even make these days besides sports games?
Let’s be real though, they are only so expensive to produce because they have the notion that bigger and more expensive means better. Just look at what happened with Starfield. You can’t tell me that game wouldn’t be immensely better if there were just like 8 or even less planets. You don’t need to make things as massive and expensive as possible to make a successful game. You just need to have a good idea with a good execution. I’ll play a game like Deep Rock Galactic or RimWorld over and over again, but I got bored of Destiny within a year or so. Heck, I’ve probably put more hours into the Halo games over my life than I ever will in Destiny.
