Oh, yeah, my local wore off halfway through. When they applied more, it felt like they lit my nuts on fire.

My recovery was honestly pretty bad. I was bed-ridden for about 2 weeks, then 8-ish months of aching pain all day every day. Not actually sure when it finally cleared up, I just realized I hadn’t felt the pain in a while. My first nut was about a month after the procedure, and that was also a very unpleasant experience.

My case is abnormal, but even more rare is the guys that continue to be in pain for the rest of their lives. Didn’t find out about that until I started digging deeper because of my persistent pain.

That said, I still 100% recommend getting it done.

Gotta get creative to get any decent addresses these days. I’ve been trying to establish a company name (with an available, short-ish, simple URL) and it’s surprisingly difficult, even getting into weird TLDs. Really annoying, especially since a lot of them aren’t actually being used.

Finally found a 9 character made-up word that I could get the .us TLD for, and I think that’s about as good as it’s going to get.

Fractional scaling in Windows is still eh, largely because they can’t do a whole lot about icons not designed for that scale. For example in Rhino a bunch of the icons get weird pixel doubling when running 150% because they were designed for 100% and use a lot of 1 pixel wide elements.

It’s honestly the main reason I keep hanging on to my now 10 and 15 year old displays. I’m hoping for a 6k 32" display so I can run true 200%. Dell makes one but they put a stupid webcam forehead on it.

You also need to be careful when deleting your account - when you do, they’ll send you a “there was an issue with your request” email that tries to get you to register again by prompting you to “log in” to fix it. The log in is creating a password for a new account.

I find the premade mixes from Birdseye (sold basically everywhere that has frozen food) to be a pretty good lazy way to get a big meal. Usually a decent mix of meat, veggies, and grain, but the whole bag (3 servings) is only like 600-900 kcal. Sometimes it feels like an obscene amount of food for the calorie count.

Not bad for what’s basically a microwave dinner.

I just used an online calculator. It said something like 1500 kcal a day for my activity level to maintain weight.

I don’t really count calories, but I do look to get a general idea of what a meal or a snack is. Sometimes I’m way over, sometimes I’m way under, it’s all about balance and being in the ballpark.

So although charging an EV is by no means fossil-fuel-free, it’s considerably less fossil-fuel than an ICE car.

That was my point. Even in the worst case it’s comparable to 60mpg… No ICE gets 60mpg. And in a decade it’ll be even better.

Last time I looked (a few years ago), a 100% coal powered EV had similar emissions to a 60mpg car.

I doubt anywhere will still be coal powered in a decade, with how fast plants are closing. But that EV will still be there on its 3rd owner.

Last time my card got skimmed it was $0 and <30 seconds to fix, including hold time. They don’t fuck around when you’re reporting stolen info, because legally it’s their money, not yours.

I think it was only 3 when I first signed up, so that’s an improvement. They probably hit the ones most likely to honor takedown requests, but yeah 190 sites is more than 10. $9 is more than $0 too though, so it’s a balance.

I wonder how many sites like this actually exist. Probably over a thousand would be my guess.

I know. But this YouTube channel, Out of Spec, runs this exact same 70mph loop in every EV. A large number of them exceed their EPA rated range in this test. I mentioned the EV9 because it’s similar to the Cybertruck in many ways (a brick…), and I had just watched that range test this week.

Also worth noting the guy is a Tesla fanboy, so he’s not going to deliberately make the CT look bad.

The gearing in the Taycan/E-Tron GT aren’t for efficiency, but for speed. Electric motors don’t really lose efficiency as they spin faster, but they do start to lose the ability to move the car faster against the exponentially increasing wind resistance. This isn’t an issue for most cars (they top out around 110mph), but for something like the Taycan it’s important (tops out around 155mph).

The 70mph situation is more that manufacturers de-rate their cars. Both the Taycan and the Lyriq (a SUV brick) are well-known for demolishing their EPA ranges in 70mph cruising tests. Even the EV9 (the brickiest brick) exceeded the EPA range in this same test.

Most EVs he’s tested hit or exceed the EPA range on this test. Even bricks like the EV9 exceed their EPA range in similar temps.

So does the EV9, but it exceeded the EPA range in the same test.

Because a lot of other EVs that he’s run on the same test exceed the EPA numbers, some by a quite considerable margin. The Taycan for example is well-known for exceeding the EPA estimates by as much as 50%. He recently tested the EV9 (a brick) on the same test in similar temperatures, and it also exceeded the EPA numbers.

He ran his standard test. Most other EVs in this test exceed the EPA range, most notably he recently tested the EV9 (a literal brick) in similar temperatures.

It’s worth noting that he recently did the same test, with similar temps, in the EV9 (which is also super inefficient on the highway), and got over the EPA range. IIRC most of his range tests exceed EPA numbers.

The big problem is V2L/V2H/V2G aren’t a part of the CCS or NACS standards, so each manufacturer is out doing their own thing that doesn’t work with anyone else’s thing. Makes it more expensive (specialized hardware/software), and complicates changes down the road.
