Another homelabber checking in: u got the name of the neat managed switch already or am I annoying too early? :3
I fear I gotta move to a different instance. I’m also a lefty but gawd damn I will never try to justify the stuff some dudes on this instance do.
I’m not sure but I think the second one looks just a tiny bit different, so it should have worked.
No clue why u’r getting all the hate homie.
Got a similar situation but couldn’t be bothered so far, to actually create a post.
Maybe ask the same question in the piracy community.
Having the exact issue whilst transitioning to piracy.
I mean using the apps, you get reccomendations and the new stuff gets put on the front page.
But if i am making proper use of the Seven Seas™, then I’ll have no Netflix recommendations anymore.
So where do I get recommendations on new interesting material?
Yep thats what I meant. But also imo templated VM or Containers are not aimed to be not break-out safe. This is the case for this though, which why I think it would not be fair to it to set it side by side to a normal vm template or container. Besides that it also brings some nice added bonuses, some of which you listed.
Reall great article. Thanks for sharing. But I dont know where you get the “literally a template” idea from. The article is explaining pretty well how its made and there isn’t one thing that leads to the assumption that this was just a template that gets booted up.
The secured Sandbox maybe? The windows sandbox is pretty awesome for day to day use imo. And no a template VM or container isnt really the same thing. The sandbox has the task of making sure that there is nothing that can break out. Afaik the sanbox has done a pretty good job so far in that aspect. Does linux bring a comparable option to the table? Would love to find out, changig as many aspects of my life to linux is the best thing to do.
I just got rickrolled by a cutout of a rickroll in a 80% transpary super small image in the lower edge.
If you didnt mention it I would have not noticed this awesomely hidden gem :D
Nah.
Give examples. Maybe I can help.
I love to submit my ILoveSpam@domainname.com E-Mail Adress at In-Person Counters when they ask for an E-Mail-Adress. Makes every person I told it grin :D
Edit: noticed some sentence building errors. Corrected 'em.
Well thats weird. Maybe try the nightly build, they have additional features and patches. Maybe its a weird bug that got patched with this version or it is a random problem that occurred whilst the installation.
Well thats because as soon as you search you are actually using a website. If the website doesnt support darkmode or was someday configured to be whitemode, then it will always show up bright. If the website doesnt support darkmodes: use the newest install that comes in a few days the 120 version. Or switch to the nightly-installation where you can already now install plugins/extentions. Then install the darkreader extention. Done. Ezpz
This is the way. The dude in the comment above the one I am replying to described a different way where you have to change the config, which would be neccesary to do on every new installation. Via the bookmarks/shortcuts method you will have the BANG Search on every new installation just by importing your bookmarks - or if you use an firefox account with synchronisation you will already have it with your login.
Be advised that duckduckgo has already some predefined BANG Searches, that you can use without having to change anything. Just type in the search bar:
Linux beginner here. Whats snaps?
Well I can say for myself I am the second kind of person.
The fuck is this abomination?
Tbh. Its highly unlikely that you will face anything that disrupts business and can prove it being from this machine.
Even if you get hit by a trojan that encrypts everything: if you have AV on clients and servers and update their databases regularely, noone could or would blame a dude thats 3 months in the job for it. I mean you have no prior experience. Thats also why i would not try to escelate it further. You will get fucked by management if you fall in the back of a higher ranking position. They dont appreciate people calling stuff like this out. Especially in small family owned businesses. Trust me. I’ve been there.
You will most likely find even more hazards in the future. If it gets worse, make a list. If you can, put in the CVE Codes and their explanation about the issue and the potential risks.
Put it in a monthly report-email regarding IT Topics. Also put different stuff in there, so you dont only appear to be whining about the system that they obviously have been taking care of in a lackluster way. This way you show that you are doing your job for the case that there might actually be a hazard and if they ask, you can simply point to your monthly report and say you did your best and did not get enough ressources/coworkers/ or the so very much needed new Firewall Appliance.
In terms of futur vision: write up your daily systems you work with. I’ll make some examples for your Resume:
And so on.
Also make a second list with projects, what your role in them was (most likely project lead), and what situation you had and the target. Also in which timeframe you are working on it (March/2024 - Today)
Don’t tell anybody that you are keeping your eyes out for a new job. Wait till you have landed a new job with administration work (dont do First-Layer Support Jobs. They get you stuck on your career ladder)
Also have a look at job portals like Kununu and check Ratings of companies. Since you are already in a kind of dispute with your boss I would suggest to not leave a review of your current workplace, whilst you still work there. Attention would be immediately brought to your end.
Also: if you are bad at creating a resume. Use an online builder. Job portals offer them. Be advised though, recruiters will already call the number that you type in there even before you are done typing your resume. rxResume is and FOSS Resume Builder. Can be selfhost or simply used by the Publicly hosted variant.
