Thank you! I just went and turned them off after seeing your comment.
Cool meme bro.
Let’s put things in perspective. Lemmy.world currently has a “whopping” 127k users. That’s fewer users than the moderately successful niche subreddit I created on Reddit has, which is just one of several thousand subreddits over 127k in size. Not to mention the tens of thousands of Instagram, youtube, facebook, tiktok, etc., pages with more than 127k subscribers. Saying lemmy.world has “a lot of power” at this point seems like a real stretch to me.
Good old & amp ;
I still have the community I moderate (!fitandnatural@lemmy.world) set to mod posts only, because I’m the only mod and don’t want to risk someone posting something bad while I’m not on Lemmy. We really need an approved user feature like Reddit so that vetted community members can also make posts in communities where “anyone can post” isn’t a good option.
The ale will no longer be Indian or pale.
It is indeed. A Norway lemming to be exact.
I’m glad that people here are actually sane.
Speak for yourself.
You can start here: https://mydramalist.com/shows/top
Scroll down to the “Where to Watch” section.
There are tons of really good Asian dramas online that you can watch for free. Don’t let the subtitles scare you off, I don’t even notice them anymore.
I agree that would be nice to have. There’s “Trending communities” on the main page, but I soon realized they coded that section as “today’s activity level vs. the average level”, which means brand new communities with only one post and no comments were being shown as “trending” since today’s activity is infinitely more than the average for a community that didn’t exist before today.
I do, but if I subscribe to the science community it’s to see articles on new discoveries in physics, mathematics, astronomy, paleontology, etc., in my feed, not hot button political/cultural themed “studies”.
And the Easy-Bake Oven is an oven if it can cook something. Doesn’t mean it belongs in a real kitchen.
So is “science” on lemmy.world going to have politically charged social science “studies” like the Reddit version? Can’t we do better here?
It means Reddit is paying to store the image instead of lemmy.world
I’ve been wondering about this also since I started a new community in the last week and have already invested a fair amount of time into it. I’m hesitant to keep investing time and effort, though, if it can just disappear with no recourse.

FInally, something I’m in the 1% of.
I know this is just anecdotal, but I have literally not seen a single mention of Lemmy anywhere online or in the news in the last 3 months, including on Reddit. “Build it and they will come” only gets you so far…
