Ideally I want to use wpa3 as its the latest standard and all of my devices (except windows) are able to use it. I left the model number in the other response you left :P
Trying to migrate off of stealth for Reddit so I can stop feeling guilty that I’m still technically using reddit

Its a “Sager N870HK”
yes.
I do have professors that dont require it, but I also have professors that have a stick somewhere it doesn’t belong and just expect the computer to teach us everything. I understand where youre coming from though
I don’t use Reddit and like I said in the OP most of what I found on Lemmy relating to tech help were dead (no posts in over 10 months). Can’t use a VM due to lockdown browser.
Win 11, Something like Intel® Wireless-AC 6000. I dont remember if its 6258 or something like that, I just know its let’s than 9000 which is the minimum Intel requires for wpa3 for whatever reason. I can find the exact model # tomorrow if youre interested
Find me an Intel driver for a pre 9000 series laptop adaptor that supports wpa3 for windows and we can talk about “keeping it up to date” :)
Not sure why you got down voted, this is what I’m currently doing to work around it
I could do this if I wanted to get kicked out of college and lose 5k tuition
They only allow certain students in specific programs to borrow and I dont fit the criteria. Its a Really shitty situation.
Lockdown browser (government sponsored spyware)
Unfortunately its due to Lockdown browser which doesn’t allow virtualization no matter how obfuscated I try to make it.
Well this sucks. I have no idea what to do then lol

If the goal of a DE is to attract users, Vanilla GNOMEs implementation fails to be attractive to most people as it is too foreign from established standards. Extensions are something that are actively not supported officially by GNOME, so using them would not fix the fact that a user expects a minimize, maximize, and close buttons and will not have them on vanilla GNOME, they will not have a Windowed start menu on GNOME, nor a System tray or traditional taskbar. What this user is saying is not “wrong” as they are saying the developers of GNOME want their DE how they want their DE, and people who prefer a more traditional desktop will most likely not like Vanilla GNOME because of that fact.
CalyxOS, lovely community and MicroG is FOSS (as opposed to Sandboxed Play Services being literally Google play services.)
I’m on 2024.04 so I’m not sure, I’ll check and see if theres an update of some sort and see if that resolves my issue. Thanks for your input though, itz much appreciated.
It does in fact look interesting, I’ll have to spin it up on my test machine and play with it. I’m not entirely sure it will do what I want because I dont see anything about it in the docs but I’m also skimming them at the moment.
Awesome, Thanks
