I love your cat
I love your cat
I’m sure it’s so they can also slowly add features of their own and slowly make their platform better
Idk just seeing threads makes me think of EEE so thank you lemmy you have trained me well
I don’t swing that way but it’s truly unfortunate 😔
I’m just trying to visualize this, it’d be similar when you break something in half and a tiny piece goes flying
Yes Ik very different concepts but I’m just trying to make visual brain happy here
So you could tell me, the person who doesn’t even run the dishwasher, all about it
I’m on voyager as well and both links opened fine in app for me
No the commenter but I think it’s one of those language things where algorithm (at least in the context of social media) has come to mean a personalized feed, like two people have different all feeds versus an algorithm like sorting by hot or active posts that every has the same posts. To your point both are algorithms but it’s one of those thing where the word has taken on its own meaning
On a similar note, a reason why you shouldn’t respond to spam/scam texts because it basically verifies you as an active phone number. Why waste man/bot power texting numbers that may or may not exist when a majority of your texts will at least be seen by a human which will probably boost their chance
It’s why I tell my friends not to respond even tho some of their responses are really funny
Some smarter ones I see usually range between 2-7 lines of text usually written as a time sensitive question that will affect the totally real persons social or work like
One of my favorite ones was about 5 lines of text that was posed as a date
It was like “Hey Kayla it’s Mike, some short sob story about dating life, hope our first date goes well, then nonsense about dating with an address thrown in
However after the 5 lines it was in Arabic or some similar flowy characters and when I translated it continued “mikes” story about where he was from and how oh so sad his life was
Tldr totally fishing for a pity “sorry wrong number” to see if my phone number would be seen by human
I also said way less than what I was thinking but you pretty much summarized the other half of what I was thinking with people being able to get the authenticator which is in this case the message
I also just plain don’t like them
Idk why beyond the reasons I said
not an SMS
OMFG YEEEEEEESSSSS I HATE THOSE I’m not even super duper security focused I just love the idea of even a bot farm has to guess a code within a 30 second window
Meanwhile sms codes usually expire between a ten minutes and an hour, usually a half hour, but thats if at all
As much as I hate them they’re better than nothing :/
What a nice original comic you made
It’s why I stole it
I remember seeing a comment on here that said something along the lines of “for every dangerous or wrong response that goes public there’s probably 5, 10 or even 100 of those responses that only one person saw and may have treated as fact”
The computer is good at dodging without moving
It’s like how I can talk while holding my breath but only over a call
Nice. I’ve just been… what’s the word, not wary, maybe hesitant on it just because I didn’t know stuff like uptime and how quick mail came through
Don’t get me wrong I love proton i just…. I completely lost my train of thought lol
I have had proton mail with premium for the VPN and password manager for a good couple months now but how good is the mail. I really only have it for like steam and few game accounts
Edit: after looking through my light post history probably been on proton for six months. Man how time flies, by my question still stands even if I haven’t used the email as much as I’d have liked to
Someday our children’s children children and so on will be so powerful
+1
Ever since I was a wee flipflop I always liked to learn from my friends (and yes I was that gullible naive friend) but now even in my 20s it’s still fun to learn outside a classroom. I don’t have to worry about my terrible memory not keeping all the info, if it sticks it sticks
