We have all this car infrastructure already. Unless the plan is to somehow replace that all with light rail in the next ten years, EVs are a reasonable solution we can roll out on a shorter timeline.

When the fork I use for lunch and throw away will outlast my civilization, I’m very much ok with destroying that technology.
We should embrace anything that gets us off fossil fuels faster even if it comes from companies that have contributed to the problem in the past. We don’t have time for purity tests if we actually want to tackle this problem.
How can the UN and Israel trade blame? Is the UN setting up checkpoints to turn around Israeli aid? Is the UN destroying NGO convoys even though they’ve been informed they’ll be going into Gaza?
